2 Reasons Why Your Commercial Washing Machine Fails Constantly

It does not matter if you operate a laundromat or you have a small laundry center for the residents of your rental community to use, people expect your washing machines to work. If you find that your laundry machines are frequently breaking down and out of service, the users might not be to blame. Instead, your lack of maintenance could be at fault. 1. Damaged Hoses

Each washing machine has a series of inlet and outlet houses. The inlet house is responsible for delivering water to the machine for the cleaning and rinsing cycles, and the outlet houses drain the dirty water from the machine.

If the inlet hose is damaged, it will slow the rate at which water is able to fill inside the machine basin and ultimately impact the cleaning process. If the outlet hose is damaged, the water from the machine might leak and spill on the ground. 

Any type of damage to these hoses will affect the machine's efficiency. For commercial machines, these hoses should be checked several times a year and changed at the first sign of a problem. Even without damage, these hoses should often be changed every few years. 

2. Clogged Filters

There is a lot of attention paid to the lint filter inside the dryer. While it's important to keep this filter clean, it's equally important to also pay attention to the filter inside the commercial washing machine. 

People are sometimes more apt to put items into a commercial washing machine that they would not dare put into their own, such as garments that contain rocks or gravel or large amounts of paper. When these items are inside the machine, it's the role of the filter to trap them and prevent them from circulating around the machine. 

The more debris that builds upon the filter, the less water can flow through the machine, which can affect the cleaning process as well as cause damage to some of the belts inside the machine. For a high-traffic laundry center, these filters should be checked and cleaned at least once a week to avoid a clog.

Make certain you make maintenance a top priority for your washing and drying equipment. Not only will your customers be happier, but you can save yourself a great deal of money over time in unexpected repair costs.
